Magnetic Poetry: "The Twelve O'Clock Thrill"

created with the online poetry magnet kit. i chose the mustache poet option (mostly out of curiosity, really)...which really limited my words in a sexual, risque kind of way. i didn't initially mean to write a poem like...this. but i used the words it gave and here we are!

I actually own the 'real' one, but it's so time consuming and such a mess, this is much easier!

wow, this was sexually charged. just kidding. it had just certain connotations or double entendres. cute though

Where Did My Blog Title Come From?

Over the years, I've had several people ask me, "Warning the stars...what's that mean, anyway?"

My blog actually is named after one of my favorite poems by Anne Sexton (whom is my poetic idol!) The poem is titled The Black Art and is one of my favorites by her.

Below is the excerpt that inspired my blog title:

A woman who writes feels too much,
those trances and portents!
As if cycles and children and islands
weren't enough; as if mourners and gossips
and vegetables were never enough.
She thinks she can warn the stars.
A writer is essentially a spy.
