Laying Across the Grass at Night

I always love writing to a photograph as was the prompt today at MindLoveMisery.

Wherever she may graze,
rather palms down in cat pose
or heel-to-the ground
face toward the wind,
the sun is always but a shadow
against the thunder-colored aura
of a January night mist.
She tells the stars her stories,
girl of brittle heart and careless hands,
her pen but a half-silent repose,
but they are too busy watching
the moon skip stones.

  1. I love the way you've introduced your 'character' and your setting straight away, and how you've told a story in so few words, Stacy Lynn. My favourite lines:
'the sun is always but a shadow
    against the thunder-colored aura
    of a January night mist'
    and
'but they are too busy watching
    the moon skip stones.'
